Women's Programs
Cheri offers programs specially designed for women, and girls that foster a deep nurturing of the feminine spirit in all it's forms: wild, soft, subtle, sensual, playful, intense and empowering. Cheri has worked with Women's groups for over 10 years all over the country using the drum, song, and music as effective tools for empowerment, healing, ceremony, expression and community building with women.
There are so many reasons for women to come together to share and explore, for healing, for celebration,for strength, for inspiration, for unity, for removal of our often built in programming from both our patriarchal world and other women, on and on and on. Being together strengthens our connectivity as women and helps to heal our worlds as we become empowered and enlivened thru expression and creativity. Women entrain almost immediately and working with women in rhythm is such a natural and amazing opportunity for the entire world to experience! Cheri's women's groups always gather a crowd who love to watch and feel the power of women in unity!

Programs
In addition to the standard programs Cheri offers, which can all be women specific as well, the following programs are available & crafted especially for women. In addition, Cheri creates individually catered events/programs/rites of passages or ceremonies for girls and women:
SOUL SISTAH'S: Drumming for Women & Girls
This workshop is a foundational experience that offers women and girls a safe space to explore and learn together. It is designed for beginner to intermediate drummers and will cover the following: approaching the drum, hand technique, body mechanics, breathing, rhythmical building blocks, feeling the beat, finding the one, relaxing into the groove, and one ensemble piece. This is a 3 hour workshop and can be done in a series as well where each class will build on the one before it. For this workshop, djembes will be used, and participants can purchase or rent a drum from RH if they don’t have one.
SOUL SISTAH'S: STRESSLESS FLOW
Stressless Flow is a Meditational Approach to Drumming, & Music Making for Women, using Guided Imagery, drumming, singing bowls, and relaxation principles to relieve stress and tension. A portion of the time will be spent in sharing life experiences and heart connections fostering a deeper connection with other women. A two hour experience. For this workshop, a variety of sounds and instruments including gongs, singing bowls etc will be used: participants can purchase or rent a drum from RH if they don’t have one.
WOMEN OF THE MUSE
A Muse opportunity for women only to explore safety, courage, expressionism and making music with other women. See the Magical Mystical Muse page on this site for more info on the muse.
GROOVIN GALS
For young women and girls ages 10-18 to develop their intuitive sense of rhythm, grace and power thru drumming and musical expression.
SOUL SISTAH’S: WOMAN TO WOMAN
In Woman to Woman we will explore the dynamics of female/female relationships: mother/daughter, sisters, girlfriends and more. We will explore and share experiences we’ve had from and with other women, and in ourselves: dominance, submission, deceipt, insecurities, etc. and unveil the truth living behind and beneath the “cattiness” that women often experience from other women or find themselves feeling. Effective and loving ways of disarming the “bitch” within ourselves and other women will be shared as well as an indepth look at why seemingly “empowered” women often are “intimidated” by each other or clash when trying to work together. By healing these places in ourselves, we can help to establish beautiful and truly feminine models of women working and sharing together: the real woman’s way.
Run for Congo Women
Rhythm Harvest is proud to be a part of the Regional Run For Congo Women again this year in September '08 and is very happy to be participating in an event that fosters support for women in Africa.
Run for Congo Women is a grassroots run or walk or bike or swim or bake or pray fundraiser for Women for Women International's Congo Program. In only one year, it has blossomed into a global movement with a very simple message:
Congolese lives matter. The lives of Congolese women are significant. The lives of Congolese children are precious. They have waited far too long. They are worth our effort. These women are running to help.
